Booking Mountain Poppy for a Wedding or Large Event

How do I book Mountain Poppy for a wedding?

If you have a firm date that you want to use Mountain Poppy Florals for, please reach out to us with all relevant information, and we'll be happy to send you more information!

Do you collect a deposit when I book you?

Yes! Mountain Poppy Florals collects a $500 non-refundable deposit at the time of your booking to reserve your wedding or event date in our calendar. We can book out months in advance, and require a deposit to ensure our availability and total focus on your event. We only book 1 wedding on any given day, to give your florals our full attention. Your deposit is non-refundable if you elect to not move forward with Mountain Poppy Florals.

Is my deposit applied to my total cost?

It is! We collect your $500 deposit to secure your date, and your final invoice(s) will reflect a $500 credit from your initial deposit.

I'm getting married outside of Idyllwild, can you be my florist still?

Absolutely! We charge a base rate for out of town and out of county weddings that is determined based on distance. This cost is typically between $250 - $500 between Palm Springs to San Diego (and many places around!).

What's your price for set-up and delivery?

We charge a flat $150 set-up fee for weddings that require us to be there beyond a floral hand off, regardless of how many florals we bring. Arch and structure installations have the cost of set-up already included in the price! We offer one complimentary day-of delivery in Idyllwild-Pine Cove based on guest arrival and ceremony beginning. Additional deliveries are $100 per instance.

What is a standard budget that you work with?

At Mountain Poppy, we appreciate and embrace couples of every budget. We are happy to create the biggest impact within your budget and can work with you to find the perfect package. Our couples typically spend between $2,500 - $7,000 on their florals between the bridal party, tables, centerpieces, aisle markers, and freestanding arch structures. Contact us today with your dreams and budget, and we will create something beautiful for you!

How do you price your weddings? What can I expect?

We price our weddings at industry standard, which includes a living wage for our employees, and cost of travel from our San Diego supplier, labor, and delivery for all staff members at Mountain Poppy Florals! When we book a wedding, we dedicate multiple employees to your arrangements for multiple hours in the 3-5 days leading up to your event. You can expect your estimate to show a range of cost that is dependent on the types of flowers you want. As an example, peonies have a short bloom season, and are a higher priced stem, and will raise the price of your arrangements. Once you and our florists solidify your flower choices and arrangement requests, you'll receive a final quote!

Day of Wedding or Event Questions

Do you have extra petals for my flower girl?

We can usually, with enough notice, accommodate additional day of floral requests for our base rate plus a rush fee. Due to our strict weekly ordering system for weddings and stocking our in store Stem Bar, we cannot offer complimentary petals.

How will my bouquets be delivered?

We pack your bouquets safely for travel, and deliver them in a tall vase filled with water for you to keep the blooms fresh until you walk down the aisle! Remember to pack a cloth or paper towels in your bridal go-bag to soak up the excess water before your nuptials!

What time can I expect you to arrive with my arrangements?

We coordinate with you, your wedding coordinator and/or the venue coordinator to get your bouquets delivered to you before your first look, typically while you're finishing up your hair and make-up, before your solo photos! We plan our deliveries around YOU and your big day, so we will be there when you need us there!

I need you to deliver some of the arrangements the day before, and the rest on the day of, is that possible?

Of course! In Idyllwild, we offer one complimentary delivery to your venue inclusive in your total package cost. If you need our florist on site more than once, a $100 per visit charge will be applied to your invoice.

I don't need delivery for my event, can I pick it up?

Absolutely! While we are happy to do deliveries with advanced notice, we are also pleased to offer in-store pick ups during our regular business hours. If you want to do a quickie wedding with just bouquets and boutonnières, you can pick up the day before or day of, and return the rental vases to us the day after your wedding!

Local Pick-Up and Deliveries

I don't live in Idyllwild, but want to send a bouquet to someone in the area, how can I do that?

We love to be the bearers of beautiful bouquets! Whether it's for a birthday, a housewarming, or a 'just because' bouquet, we can deliver a bouquet for you within the zip code radius of 92549. We have pre-made options that vary seasonally under our FLORALS tab, or, you can call us at (951) 468-0844 to place a custom order. Please note that we require at least 24 hours advanced notice for deliveries placed over the phone.

I need a bouquet TODAY, how can I make that happen?

While we make every attempt to accommodate immediate deliveries and requests, we are a very small team that often only has one person working at a time. If you are in a rush, we recommend coming into the shop directly to build a bouquet. To help your florist out, please be prepared with size, color preference, and budget request!

Can you deliver outside of Idyllwild?

We currently only offer $10 delivery in Idyllwild-Pine Cove, and $35 delivery to Mountain Center. For deliveries not in Idyllwild-Pine Cove, we require 72 hours advanced notice, and take deliveries to Anza on a case by case basis with an additional fee.

Who's delivering my flowers and when will they arrive?

Mountain Poppy Florals does all deliveries in house! We do this to ensure that your flowers are cared for through all windy mountain roads up here. We appreciate your understanding in our limited delivery windows so we can staff our shop, create your bouquet, and safely transport it to your recipient! Your Mountain Poppy delivery person will be one of our in-store staffmembers!

What if I want home goods or non-flowers delivered?

You've got it! We are happy to provide delivery of anything on our website for a $10 flat rate, flowers included. A great option if you're hosting a dinner party and realize you need a new candle, we can help you with that!

How do I collect a pick-up order?

When you receive a notification that your pick-up order is ready, come on into the store and show a sales associate your pick-up information, and we'll hand over the goods!

Workshops, In-Store Events & Parties

I'm having a Bachelorette Party in Idyllwild and would love to have a private floral lesson, is that possible?

Yes! We would love to host you and your party for a workshop, and have a variety of workshop options and pricing levels available. Please email hello@mountainpoppyflorals.com to coordinate.

What types of workshops do you offer?

We offer a variety of workshops, but our evergreen workshops that we offer regularly are Flower Crowns, How to Arrange like a Florist, and Color Theory! Keep your eyes on our IG for upcoming workshops.

How much do your workshops cost?

Our workshops vary from $45 - $350 depending on the instruction, supplies, and product you get to take home!

Can I suggest a workshop?

While we can't cater to every individual request, we always love hearing from our locals on what types of workshops you'd like to see!
